Role: Software Engineering Intern

Tools: Unreal 4, Perforce, Jenkins, InstallShield

Languages/Scripting: Unreal 4 Blueprints, C++, Batch, and PowerShell

Dates: December 2015 - July 2016

As a Software Engineering Intern, I gained experience in utilizing a range of tools to deploy simulation software onto test equipment. One of my key accomplishments was the creation of a Jenkins server that adhered to government regulations surrounding the transfer of sensitive data.

In addition to deployment, I also worked extensively on troubleshooting and maintaining software builds within the Unreal 4 engine. When I first joined one project, I discovered that the project had not been cooked and packaged in over a year. I took on the challenge of fixing all of the errors and ensuring that the build was consistently stable, setting up a Jenkins server to alert the team whenever any submissions broke the build.

To further streamline the installation process for our simulation software, I developed an installer using InstallShield. To optimize the installation process, I programmed the installer to automatically determine which files and setup components were necessary for each individual computer, ensuring that the simulation would run smoothly on every system.
